Women in the program usually require numerous services to address their needs. They include:
  • Support groups.
  • Drug and alcohol counseling
  • HIV counseling
  • Parenting skills
  • Basic living skills
  • Educational opportunities through area literacy programs, such as Mercy Learning Center.
  • Referrals to outpatient substance abuse treatment facilities, such as Project Courage, Liberation Meridian, Guenster, and Southwest Community Center.
  • Links to area human service agencies.
  • HIV/AIDS educational workshops and referrals to medical services.
  • Assistance with applications: WIG, food stamps, job services, Supplemental Security Income, Social Security, Clothing and Personal items
  • Assistance locating affordable housing.
Annual Statistics
The average length of stay is six months to two years. We service approximately 30 women and children annually. Bethel Recovery has the capacity to have 15 clients in residence,
There is a growing need for long-term, structured, transitional living for women in recovery, which is almost non-existent in the greater Bridgeport area.
